Morning Blót (Simple Offering)
Level: beginner
The blót (Old Norse: sacrifice/offering) is the core practice of Norse paganism — the sacred gift exchange between human and divine. This simplified morning version takes only 5 minutes and grounds you in reciprocal relationship with the gods and spirits.
The rite, step by step

Prepare
Fill your cup or horn with your offering. Light a candle if available. Stand or sit at your altar or a clean, clear surface.

Center
Take three slow breaths. Feel your feet on the ground — you are standing in Midgard, between the roots of Yggdrasil and the stars.

Hail the Worlds
Raise the cup and speak aloud (or in a whisper):

Name Your Intent
Speak to whichever god you are working with today, or to your ancestors. Be specific. What do you offer? What do you seek?

The Offering
Drink half your cup. Pour the remainder into the earth outdoors, or into an offering bowl. This is the sacred exchange — you share the gift.

Pause in silence. Listen. Then simply say:
