CHAPTER 36
tr. Martin Haug and E. W. West (1872)
✦
1. I also saw the soul of a man (2) who stood up, in hell, in the form of a serpent like a column; (3) and his head was like unto a human head, and the remaining body, unto a serpent. 4. And I asked thus: 'What sin was committed by this body?' 5. Srosh the pious, and Adar the angel, said (6) thus: 'This is the soul of that wicked man who, in the world, committed apostacy; (7) and he fled into hell, in the form of a serpent.'
