CHAPTER 40

1. I also saw the soul of a man (2) who ever carried a mountain on his back; (3) and in snow and cold, he had that mountain upon his back. 4. And I asked thus: 'What sin was committed by this body?' 5. Srosh the pious, and Adar the angel, said (6) thus: 'This is the soul of that wicked man, by whom, in the world, falsehood and irreverence and depreciating words were much spoken about people; (7) and now his soul ever suffers the punishment of such severe frost.'
