Epilogue
Battiscombe Gunn, 1906
Let thy face be bright all the days of thy life. There has gone from the storehouse only what went out from it; if bread is found, an offering is made, and the name of him who makes the offering endures. How good it is for a man to have reached old age when he has set his affairs in order! He who lives in Maat, his heart is at rest.
How beautiful is the good man who comes to his end in peace! The man who has heard, who passes on what he has heard, is one well-pleasing to God. He who has done these things is a craftsman of truth. His memory is celebrated among the great; his reward is in the life beyond. Follow Maat; it is the path that has no end. Thus spake Ptahhotep, in peace, at the end of his days.
