Who is Ahura Mazda?

Ahura Mazda ('Wise Lord') is the supreme deity of Zoroastrianism — the uncreated, all-knowing creator of the universe, the embodiment of Asha (truth and cosmic order). Known as Ormuzd in the Shahnameh, he is the source of all light and goodness, locked in eternal cosmic struggle with Angra Mainyu (Ahriman), the principle of darkness.

Then Ahriman the Evil, when he saw how the Shah's honour was increased, waxed envious, and sought to usurp the diadem of the world.
