Chapter 93. [Turning away travellers or charging for services]

1. Then I saw the souls of those who were fallen, headlong, into hell; (2) and smoke and heat were driven upon them from below, and a cold wind from above. 3. And I asked thus: 'What sin was committed by these bodies, whose souls suffer so severe a punishment?' 4. Srosh the pious, and Adar the angel, said (5) thus: 'These are the souls of those who, in the world, gave no place, nor caravanserai for travellers, nor lodging, nor space, nor baking oven; (6) or who gave them, and took hire for them.'
