Spell 125 — Ammit the Devourer

E.A. Wallis Budge, 1895

The Devourer of the Dead, Ammit, croucheth beside the scales. She hath the head of a crocodile, the forequarters of a lion, and the hindquarters of a hippopotamus. She devoureth the hearts of those found unworthy. But I shall not be devoured, for my heart is light. I have done no wrong. I am Osiris, I am justified, I go to the Field of Reeds in peace.
