Hymn 14 — To the Mother of the Gods

Hugh G. Evelyn-White, 1914

I will sing of the great Mother of the gods, Rhea. She is the mother of blessed gods and of men, the far-sounding, all-holy one, who loves the tumult of cymbals and drums and the wail of flutes and the howling of wolves and bright-eyed lions, and echoing mountains and wooded combes. And so hail to all the goddesses and this song!
