Hymn 29 — To Hestia

Hugh G. Evelyn-White, 1914

I will sing of Hestia, who in the high dwellings of all, both deathless gods and men who walk on earth, has gained an everlasting abode and highest honor: glorious is her portion and her right. For without Hestia mortals hold no banquet — where the sweet wine is poured out first and last to Hestia who begins and ends.
