Hymn 32 — To Selene

Hugh G. Evelyn-White, 1914

Of the Moon I will sing, how she rises and shines brightly, telling us of time and of seasons, as she goes. She sheds boundless light upon earth and immortal gods, and on mortal men, and the earth is glad beneath her rays. Hail, goddess, white-armed queen, bright Selene, mild, bright-tressed queen! And now farewell: but do you, O goddess, white-armed Selene, bright Selene, graciously remember this my song.
