On Gratitude

Battiscombe Gunn, 1906

If thou hast been brought low, and a man of greater position is kind to thee, be grateful and do not disdain his help. God raises one man up by means of another. He who shows gratitude for kindness received shall in his time receive more. The ungrateful man cuts the cord by which God draws him upward.
