On Speech

Battiscombe Gunn, 1906

If thou art powerful, speak of things so that the young may be instructed. He who distorts what he says confuses the hearer and leads him away from all that is good. Say nothing false; it is an abomination. Speak only that which is true. He who speaks falsehood has no ship upon which to sail; his landing-place is cut off.
