What Wunjo means

Wunjo is the rune of joy, harmony, and well-being. It represents the deep satisfaction that comes from fellowship, shared purpose, and alignment with one's wyrd. As the final rune of Freya's aett, Wunjo is the culmination of the first cycle, the reward of right living and balanced relationships. In Heathen practice, Wunjo speaks to the joy of community, the warmth of the mead-hall, and the contentment that arises when one lives in accordance with the values of honor, loyalty, and generosity.

Wunjo in the historical rune poems

Three medieval poems preserve the meanings of the runes — the oldest testimony we have.

Bliss he enjoys who knows not suffering, sorrow nor anxiety, and has prosperity and happiness and a good enough house.
