Who is Anahita?
Ardvi Sura Anahita ('The Immaculate Powerful Anahita') is one of the most important female divinities in Zoroastrianism. She presides over all waters — the great cosmic river that flows from the sacred mountain Hara Berezaiti — and through water she governs fertility, childbirth, and the purification of the world. Warriors prayed to her before battle; kings sought her blessing for their dynasties.
