Who is Atar?

Atar ('Fire') is the sacred fire — son of Ahura Mazda, the most visible expression of divine light in the physical world. Every fire is a manifestation of Atar; fire temples keep the sacred flame perpetually burning as a living presence of God. Fire in Zoroastrianism is not worshipped as God but revered as God's most visible symbol — a window into the divine.
