Who is Haoma?
Haoma is both a yazata (divine being) and a sacred ritual plant — the pressed juice of which was central to ancient Zoroastrian and Vedic worship. As a divine spirit, Haoma grants health, vitality, and wisdom to those who press him with proper devotion. He is the son of Ahura Mazda, born in the mountains. The Haoma ceremony (pressing and consecrating the sacred plant) is the heart of the Yasna liturgy.
